Ravens Draft Prospect Profile: Teven Jenkins

The Baltimore Ravens have a big hole in their offensive line now that tackle Orlando Brown Jr. is a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. Now that Baltimore has two first round picks, they could look to the first night of the draft to address their need for a new right tackle.

Teven Jenkins out of Oklahoma State would be a perfect fit in the Ravens’ offense. He’s an absolute bully, using his immense power and heavy hands to stun defenders. He has experience playing at left tackle, right tackle, and right guard, but in Baltimore’s offense he would slide in on the right side, replacing Brown.

In the running game, Jenkins uses that power to move defenders off of the line, creating massive amounts of momentum. He is an absolute load while run blocking, and will play beyond the whistle, imposing his will on anyone who challenges him.

In the passing game, Jenkins can hold his own while shutting down pass rushers. He has experience playing in a pass-heavy offense in college, which should help him in pass protection at the NFL level. He also will make sure that his quarterback is protected at all times.

Jenkins is projected to be selected anywhere in the middle or late first round. It’s extremely unlikely that he falls to where the Ravens first pick at No. 27, but if he’s available, it’s a no-brainer selection for Baltimore. Jenkins would immediately start on the Ravens’ offensive line, and the team most likely wouldn’t experience a huge drop in production from the right tackle spot.
