Ravens cornerback choked Odell Beckham Jr. right in front of a ref

Football is a violent game, but Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey absolutely got carried away on Sunday.

During the second half of the Ravens’ game against the Browns, Humphrey and Odell Beckham Jr. got into a scuffle that resulted the Ravens defensive back straight-up choking Beckham on the field.

Yeah, this isn’t allowed.

As you can see, this whole ordeal took place right in front of an official with Beckham on his back.

Both Beckham and Humphrey were flagged on the play, but Humphrey was somehow not ejected. The NFL allows for ejectable contact to be reviewed, and one would probably expect for choking an opposing player to fall into the “ejectable” category.

Here’s another look:

Beckham has long accused the NFL of singling him out — with a recent example coming when he was forced to change a shaded visor mid-game. When a foul like that is getting tolerated, Beckham might have a point.

Update: Humphrey caught up with Beckham after the game and apologized to him personally. He said that it wasn’t the brand of football he wanted to be play.
