Ravens coach John Harbaugh won’t be emotional with Terrell Suggs’ return

When the Arizona Cardinals travel this weekend to face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, it will be the return of outside linebacker Terrell Suggs. Suggs, who signed with the Cardinals in the offseason, played 16 seasons for the Ravens, the team who drafted him out of Arizona State University.

Emotions will certainly be high for many involved. However, Ravens coach John Harbaugh says it won’t be a big deal for him.

He has been watching tape but emotions won’t be a problem for him, even though Suggs was a key part of the success the Ravens have had with Harbaugh as coach.

As far as that part, the emotional part of it, I’m not going to worry about that,” he said in his Monday press conference. “Maybe it will [resonate] for some people and for some fans. Maybe some players will feel that way. I won’t. It’d be great to see him before the game and hug him and all that, maybe if I happen to see him.

“I hope we do, but once the game starts, he’s a Cardinal, and we’ll be looking to do the best we can against him. He’s playing really well. He’s a game wrecker, and that’s how we’ll be treating him.”

Suggs is sure he will be emotional. The fans will certainly cheer for him. But even for Suggs, once the game starts, it will be football.
