BALTIMORE — On Thursday, the Ravens received a good development in their COVID-19 scare, as outside linebacker Matthew Judon was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and was a full participant in practice.
With two days until the team faces the Indianapolis Colts, coach John Harbaugh is "optimistic" that the remaining eligible players will return for a Saturday walk-through and Sunday's game.
"I am optimistic about all of them," Harbaugh said Friday. "(I) have not heard anything about any symptoms at this point."
Inside linebackers Patrick Queen, L.J. Fort and Malik Harrison, outside linebacker Tyus Bowser, safety DeShon Elliott and practice squad cornerback Terrell Bonds remain in self-isolation after contact tracing revealed them to be high-risk close contacts to cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who tested positive for COVID-19 Monday.
If the players remain asymptomatic and continue to test negative, the five-day self-isolation period would end Saturday and they would be able to travel with the team. Humphrey has already been ruled out.
With about half the defensive starters out of practice this week, Harbaugh said the team would have to move players around to compensate for depth problems.
"I think you just have to rely on your system," defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale said Thursday. You know what guys do well and you have to try to put them in position where they can have success. We feel like we have more than just 11 starters on our roster. We see that with all the different guys that we play."
