Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey back in vs. Chiefs

Update: Humphrey was spotted on the field before the second half testing out his change-of-direction, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. He returned back to the lineup on Kansas City’s first offensive drive in the third quarter.

The Baltimore Ravens are already a little thin in the secondary in spite of all the depth they started with. They lost slot cornerback Tavon Young for the season with a neck injury and starting outside cornerback Jimmy Smith went down in Week 1 with a sprained knee. Against the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore can’t afford any more injuries in the secondary but look like they might be without their top cornerback late in the second quarter.

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey was spotted on the sideline without his helmet. It’s unclear why Humphrey isn’t on the field for the last Chiefs drive of the first half but he isn’t with the training staff.

Cornerback Maurice Canady is on the field instead, just a week after being brought up from the practice squad. The Ravens trail Kansas City 20-6 and the Chiefs are driving again in the final two minutes of the half.

We’ll update as we find out more information.
