Ravens C Matt Skura tops NFL’s performance-based pay bonus list

With free agency underway, the Baltimore Ravens are hoping a young core of players is able to become the foundation of their roster for the foreseeable future. One such young player Baltimore relied on heavily last season was center Matt Skura, who was noticed by the NFL for his work.

Every offseason, the league awards players a “performance-based pay distribution” based on their playing time and salaries. Skura topped the list, earning an additional $395,660 for starting all 16 games for the Ravens in 2018, according to the NFL.

With Baltimore seeing center Ryan Jensen leave in free agency last offseason to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Skura was thrust into the starting role. As an undrafted free agent out of Duke in 2016, Skura made only $555,000 last season before this additional bonus, according to Over The Cap. Considering Jensen earned $12 million from the Buccaneers last season, it seems like a good decision by Baltimore at that value.

The Ravens didn’t have any other players in the top 25 on the bonus list.
