Ravens C Bradley Bozeman shares details on illness that kept him out in Week 17 vs. Rams

The Baltimore Ravens dealt with a plethora of injuries over the course of the 2021 season on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. They varied from weekly injuries to monthly ones, and had many players that also had to miss the entirety of the year.

One player who was relatively healthy over the course of the season was center Bradley Bozeman. However, he wasn’t able to play in Week 17 against the Los Angeles Rams due to an illness. Bozeman was active for the game, but backup Trystan Colon played the entirety of the game at center. When asked about the illness, Bozeman explained what happened the morning of the game that led to his absence.

“I woke up at about 4 a.m. not in a great situation. I got very, very sick, and it never really laid down. The sickness just kind of kept building up until probably about halftime. I had to leave the sideline a couple times. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in a position where I could play that football game and be very effective. So, we decided that that was probably the best option. Unfortunately, we found that out a little late [and] it couldn’t come, but I was trying to play that backup role and trying to be there for my teammates in any way that I possibly could. I think Trystan [Colon] stepped up and did a great job. I wanted to be on that field so bad, I did. Those are my teammates. Those are my brothers. These are great opportunities to be able to go out and show what you can do, especially against a great defense like the Rams. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to compete and compete at a high level that day. I regret ordering that pizza that night for sure.”
