Ravens adding Brian Billick to Ring of Honor in 2019, Haloti Ngata in 2020

On the day the Ravens held a press conference to officially retire defensive tackle Haloti Ngata with the team, owner Steve Bisciotti announced that Ngata and former coach Brian Billick would be enshrined in the team’s Ring of Honor over the next two years.

Ngata was a lock to get into the Ring of Honor given his play on the field and impact off it. In Ngata’s nine seasons with Baltimore, he was one of the most dominant defensive players in the league, finishing with 25.5 sacks, 449 total tackles, five interceptions and five fumble recoveries including one returned for a touchdown.

Former general manager Ozzie Newsome thinks Ngata’s career was worthy of the Pro Football Hall of Fame when he’s eligible in five years.

However, the addition of Billick was a pretty big surprise. He spoke at the press conference about how appreciative he is.

Following the press conference, Bisciotti continued to speak highly of Billick in a conference call with personal seat license holders.

Ngata and Billick will join names like Matt Stover, Ray Lewis, Michael McCrary and Ed Reed in the Ring of Honor.
