Ravenhill Road crash: Emergency services attend scene of serious collision

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious collision in Belfast.

Police, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and NI Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Ravenhill Road on Saturday evening.

The road remains closed in both directions and diversions are in place.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Diversions are in place at the Albertbridge Road and Shamrock Street, please seek alternative routes for your journey."

There are no further details relating to the crash at this time.

Meanwhile, police have arrested two males after a laser beam was reportedly being directed at an aircraft in the Dunmore area of North Belfast last night.

Inspector McBride said: “At approximately 11.30pm last night a laser pen was directed at a police helicopter.

"Two men were arrested on suspicion of endangering the safety of an aircraft.

"One male has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) and the other remains in police custody.”
