Ravel Morrison lifts lid on Wayne Rooney incident in Manchester United dressing room

Ravel Morrison told Wayne Rooney exactly what went down after the former Manchester United captain recalled how he once smashed Morrison's phone in the Carrington dressing room.

United legend Rooney appeared on the club's official podcast last week and discussed a range of topics surrounding his time at Old Trafford, including a seemingly light-hearted incident involving the then highly rated Morrison.

"I remember I smashed his phone up, actually, at one point. He came into the first-team dressing room when he was in the reserves and my phone was on charge," he stated.

"He took it off and put his on. I remember it was one of the old Blackberries which has the email on the front. I thought it was one of the other lads so, when I saw it was one of the reserves, I just smashed the phone up!"

Morrison was quick to clear his name, though, as he dropped Rio Ferdinand in it for his role in the incident, while also hinting Gary Neville was involved.

"@RioFerdy5 put my phone on charge for me, I had a U18s game. On the way out I gave him my phone... 90 minutes later, phone smashed to 90 pieces!

"@WayneRooney it's all Rio's fault. I wouldn't come in and take your phone off charge. I'm sure @GNev2 played some part."

Morrison has played for a number of clubs since leaving United and is now plying his trade with Dutch side ADO Den Haag.
