Rave MC convicted of violence against women has curfew lifted - so he can play a gig

A convicted thug has had his curfew lifted - so that he can perform at a rave gig.

Geno Davidson, of Howden Road, North Shields,  performs across Tyneside as MC Genno D.

The brute boasts of having over 1.5 million YouTube views and has played big venues including Newcastle's O2 Academy.

In April, Davidson was electronically tagged after he admitted beating not one but two women on New Year's Eve.

That night, the pest also breached a restraining order against one of those victims by texting and calling her.

He was handed a suspended sentence at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court on June 14 after pleading guilty to assault by beating as well as breaching the order.

His punishment included an 8am until 8pm curfew.

However, magistrates at the same court lifted it so he can play a set this Saturday.

His Facebook page states he is a "very popular and well known North East Makina MC with over 1.5 million hits on YouTube.

"With regular performances at events up and down the country (he is) continuing to work along side with the biggest events and artists in the North East."

The 29-year-old is advertised to appear at a Northern Bounce event on Saturday in Sunderland.

The court heard Davidson - described as "an MC and a DJ who gets regular bookings" - is due to perform between 2.30am and 4am at Club Upside Down, in Vine Place.

And the three-person bench approved his application to amend the requirements of his suspended sentence after probation workers told the court gigs are seen as "protective" in terms of him re-offedning.

Wednesday's hearing heard violent Davidson also "goes into schools and does work with young people".
