Raul Sanllehi running out of time to stop Arsenal transfer nightmare as wonderkid confirms deal

Here's all the news from around the Emirates Stadium over the past 24 hours.

Arsenal facing triple transfer blow

Mikel Arteta could be without three defenders for the final fixtures of Arsenal's season.

That's unless the club hierarchy takes swift action. David Luiz's contract expires on June 30, the same day that loan agreements for Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares come to an end.

Premier League rules allow players to sign temporary contracts through to the end of the season but these must be agreed by June 23, giving the Gunners less than two weeks in which to make up their minds on the future of three defenders.

The impact of Arsenal's lost match-day income

Mari is expected to extend his stay but football.london understands that formal talks between Arsenal and Flamengo over either a loan extension or the activation of the purchase option remain at a formative stage.

Meanwhile the club have yet to activate the option to extend Luiz's contract by a further 12 months. The player's representative Kia Joorabchian has held talks with head of football Raul Sanllehi and technical director Edu over the 33-year-old's future, including the possibility of his signing for a lower salary.

Transfer confirmed

Pedro Virginia has swapped Arsenal for FC Porto.

The young goalkeeper, brother of former Gunners wonderkid Joao, has opted to leave the Emirates Stadium in order to further his development.

The teenager has taken to social media and confirmed he's returning to Portugal to play for Porto.

"Work, evolution, reaching the first team and being champion for this great club is what I most aspire to," he wrote on Instagram.

"Thank you @fcporto for receiving me very well."

Virginia might not be the only youngster to leave Arsenal in the coming months, find out more right here.

Guendouzi's rise in value

Matteo Guendouzi has been named the 85th most valuable footballer in Europe’s ‘Big 5’ leagues by the CIES Football Observatory’s biannual transfer value list .

The Arsenal midfielder is priced at €53million (£47m) by the report, suggesting his value has dramatically risen since the Frenchman joined from Lorient for £7m in July 2018.

He ranks 37th among Premier League players and is the 25th highest midfielder among the ‘Big 5’ leagues.

He is one of just two Arsenal players to feature on the 100-strong list, along with Nicolas Pepe.

The former Lille winger ranks 52nd and is valued at €73.1m (£65m).

The 21-year-old has seen his game time diminish under new head coach Mikel Arteta, but his rise in value leaves the Spaniard with a big decision to make.

Ramsey speaks out

Aaron Ramsey has opened up on life in Italy.

The Welsh midfielder moved on a free transfer from Arsenal to Juventus last summer - although is reportedly available for transfer again this year.

For the time being, though, he remains at Juve, and he says that the tactics involved are a lot more in-depth than in the Premier League.

"It’s different from what I’m used to,” Ramsey told The Athletic.

"Even though last season under Unai Emery was going through a lot of things on pictures as well for tactical reasons, Maurizio Sarri does like to go over things very thoroughly.

"Tactics here, especially in Italy, are such a big thing. Most days, we’ll be doing some sort of tactical work in preparation for the next game."
