Raul Sanllehi ready to fund Mikel Arteta's dream transfer window with £12m Arsenal decision

Fulham are reportedly considering a move for Calum Chambers following their promotion to the Premier League.

Chambers is somewhat of a forgotten man at Arsenal after rupturing a cruciate during his only appearance under Mikel Arteta in December.

Yet the 25-year-old is now back in training and could well return to full fitness by the end of next month.

The Sun claim that Fulham boss Scott Parker is eyeing up a move for the former Southampton defender after he won the Cottagers' player of the year award during their disastrous season in the Premier League two years ago.

Calum Chambers and Rob Holding preparing for the grind

Chambers cost Arsenal £12million when he joined the Gunners from Southampton six years ago but he has struggled to make a lasting impact at the Emirates.

With Mikel Arteta planning a major summer overhaul of his squad at the Emirates, Arsenal are unlikely to stand in the way of any potential deal to sell Chambers.

Willian is set to join a free transfer, whilst Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey is a key target, with Arteta looking to add a dynamic player to his midfield.

Reports claim Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho has also been offered to the Gunners on a loan deal.

Fulham are said to be preparing an offer of around £12m for Chambers, meaning the Gunners would recoup what they paid for the player.

Parker is said to have been impressed by Chambers' versatility, having also played him in midfield during his loan spell at Craven Cottage.

Chambers, who has won three England caps, has made just 62 league appearances for the Gunners since his 2014 move to the Emirates.

He also spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Middlesbrough but the most regular football of his career came at Fulham.

Chambers made 31 Premier League appearances in 2018/19 but was unable to prevent Fulham from being relegated back to the Championship following an ill-advised spending spree.
