Raul Sanllehi and Mikel Arteta warned off Jack Grealish transfer

Former Chelsea and Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has stated that Arsenal should not make a move to sign Jack Grealish this summer.

The Aston Villa captain has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with the Gunners said to have expressed an interest in signing the 24-year-old.

Manchester United have held long-term interest in the England hopeful but, with Villa slapping a £80million asking price upon his head, have cooled their interest.

While that may have handed Mikel Arteta's side a boost in the market if they were to move for Grealish, Johnson believes it isn't a signing that they should be making.

“They’re going to need players who know the Premier League. Some players come from different leagues and underestimate the Premier League, it can be very tough and difficult. I think they’ll need to go for more established players within the Premier League," he told football.london

“I don’t think [Grealish would be a good signing]. He’s only had one season in the Premier League so that’s not established at all. I wouldn’t be going for Jack Grealish if I’m Arsenal.

"I think he’s a great player but I don’t think he fits at Arsenal and, financial wise, they’re not going to get that done anyway.”

Johnson was speaking exclusively to football.london on behalf of BETDAQ. Read all of Glen’s views at http://www.betdaqtips.com
