'Raul Masterclass incoming!' - Excited Arsenal fans react to £70m Dayot Upamecano transfer talk

Transfer deadline day is looming and Arsenal are expected to be busy.

After Thursday the Gunners won't be able to bolster their squad until the new year and the big question on most supporters' minds is will the number of signings this summer increase from four?

Head coach Unai Emery is hopeful of doing some business amid links to Kieran Tierney, Daniele Rugani and Philippe Coutinho.

Reports would suggest a central defender is Emery’s main priority between now and deadline day.

In fact, it's quite clear that the Spanish head coach is keen to bring in one more centre-back within the few days, but has not mentioned any names.

"We are speaking about the centre backs, but we have a lot of centre backs, we have good centre backs, and if we can sign one more centre back, it is because he is clearly better than we have," he told reporters.

"Because at the moment we have six.

"We are in different positions with some players because Mavropanos has his injury and we are continuing to see that situation.

"We have until August 8, and we need to speak over these few days about how we can be, and how we can close our squad."

It's been reported that Dayot Upamecano is the Gunners' new target.

However, Bild claim that Arsenal have lodged a bid of €60million for the 20-year-old centre-back, which has been rejected by Leipzig, who do not want to sell.

But in true transfer window fashion, that's unlikely to be the end of the matter.

The Guardian claim that the Gunners have been informed that they must pay £70m to lure the Frenchman away from the Bundesliga.

Having smashed their transfer record to land Nicolas Pepe last week, it seems to have filled some supporters with extra confidence about signing Upamecano.
