Lionel Messi to Arsenal?
It would certainly be one of the most shocking transfers of all time if the Gunners were to pull it off, but reports emerging over the weekend suggest the Barcelona star could soon be on the move if he wishes.
According to L’Equipe, Messi could become a free agent come the end of the season as there is a clause in his contract which would allow him to leave the club for free should he desire.
This has been confirmed by Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Although he doesn't expect Messi to leave in 2020.
"I have no doubt he (Messi) will want to continue until 2021 and we hope after that another year," he said - as per talkSPORT.
Even Messi's teammate Gerard Pique is relaxed about the situation.
"I already knew that Messi could go for free at end of each season," Pique told El Larguero, as per the Evening Standard. "We know the commitment Leo has with Barca and it doesn't worry me at all.
"He has earned the right to decide his future."
But this hasn't stopped some Arsenal fans from dreaming.
Many have taken to Twitter and playfully urged Head of Football, Raul Sanllehi, to work his magic.
