Raul Jimenez stance on Manchester United transfer and more rumours

Raul Jimenez has his heart set on a move to Liverpool and would reject the advances of Manchester United to seal a switch to Anfield - according to reports.

United were linked with a move for the Mexico international back in January when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted the club were in the market for a new striker.

The United boss was asked about reported interest in Jimenez following a meeting between the two sides but refused to be drawn on the speculation.

United are expected to sign a new forward this summer and Jimenez continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, reports in Spain suggest the 29-year-old has no interest in joining the Reds as he would prefer a switch to their fierce rivals Liverpool.

The striker is reportedly a huge fan of Jurgen Klopp and believes the German coach can bring the best out of him.

It adds Klopp is also a fan of Jimenez and would be open to the idea of bringing him to Liverpool.

MEN Sport understand Jimenez is not a priority target for Solskjaer as he does not fit the profile of players the United boss is looking to bring to the club.

Elsewhere, reports in Portugal suggest United will not be able to tempt Benfica into a deal for striker Carlos Vinicius.

The forward is another name to be linked with United following a sensational season so far.

Vinicius has scored 15 times in 22 league appearances and his impressive form has reportedly attracted interest from both United and Liverpool.

However, O Jogo claim the Portuguese side have no interest in allowing the Brazilian to leave and plan on keeping him for another season at least in order to bring his transfer fee up.
