Children 'can't play outside' because rats 'the size of cats' rule the street

Residents in Page Moss claim they are being plagued by rats "the size of cats" that can "chew through bins".

One resident in the area noted how it has been an long-running problem, but suggested "it's never been this bad".

A woman, who did not want to be named, noted that "kids can't play in the garden" due to vermin and people are being kept awake at all hours by the pests.

Speaking to the ECHO, she said: "Rat traps aren't setting them off anymore, they're that big, the traps aren't catching them.

"I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't have seen it on my own CCTV."

Brutal killer forced ex-girlfriend to steal money from victim's account

The former girlfriend of a brutal killer helped him withdraw money from the bank account of his victim.

In December 2020, Dale Tarbox, 40, from Bradford was convicted of murdering Susan Howells, 51, in 2019.

A judge heard how Joan Arnold, 64, originally from Liverpool, who had uprooted her life to be with Dale Tarbox, later helped Tarbox withdraw just over £3,500 from his victim's bank account using her card - despite knowing he had committed the murder.

Call for answers over death of forklift driver found four months after disappearance

A coroner has called for answers over the death of a forklift driver who went missing from a hospital before he was assessed by mental health experts.

Uyapo Hayunga-Macha was found in a Birkenhead dock in March, four months after his disappearance prompted a series of public appeals to trace him.

Senior coroner Andre Rebello has now questioned why the 28-year-old was not looked after once he attended Arrowe Park due to mental health concerns.
