The PSNI is investigating an alleged stabbing in Rathcoole.
A man in his 60s is in a "serious" condition after he was reportedly stabbed at flats in Rathcoole Close after 7pm on Saturday night.
Police said: "The man is currently in hospital receiving treatment for injuries described as serious."
A spokesman said that a 77-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and wounding with intent to do grievous bodily.
He remained in police custody on Saturday night and police are appealing for witnesses.
