Ratchanok queen of India Open

Ratchanok Intanon on Sunday became the first female player to grab the US$350,000 India Open title for the third time.

Ratchanok Intanon celebrates after winning her third India Open title in New Delhi.

The Thai fourth seed, who also won the tournament in 2013 and 2016, defeated third seed He Bingjiao of China 21-15, 21-14 in the women's singles final in New Delhi for her second trophy of the season.

Ratchanok, who took home the $26,250 winner's cheque, matched Malaysian legend Lee Chong Wei, who also won the men's singles title at the tournament three times (2011, 2013 and 2014).

World No.8 Ratchanok won the Malaysia Masters in January -- her season opening tournament this year.

The 23-year-old star heads back to Malaysia this week for the $700,000 Malaysia Open -- a BWF World Tour Super 750 event.

Ratchanok, who is seeded seventh in Kuala Lumpur, has been drawn to play Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the first round.

Denmark's second seed Viktor Axelsen won the BWF World Tour 500 event for the second time, beating third seed and crowd favourite Srikanth Kidambi of India 21-7, 22-20 in the men's singles decider.

Chinese top seeds Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping claimed the mixed doubles crown after a 21-13, 21-11 victory over fifth seeds Praveen Jordan and Melati Daeva Oktavianti of Indonesia.

The women's doubles title went to Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu, the top seeded pair from Indonesia, while Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin of Taiwan won the men's doubles honour.

The 17-year-old Thai rising star defeated Lakshya Sen of India 21-17, 21-14 in the men's singles final of the BWF International Challenge tournament.

The 85th-ranked Kunlavut, a two-time world junior champion, defeated China's Sun Feixiang 13-21, 21-18, 21-16 in the semi-finals, while Sen overcame Yoor Coelho of Brazil 16-21, 21-7, 21-14 on Saturday.
