KUALA LUMPUR: Ratchanok Intanon exited the Malaysia Open badminton tournament on Saturday with a straight-sets semi-final loss to He Bingjiao of China.

The Thai world No.4 fell 21-17, 21-17 to eighth-ranked He in a match that lasted 50 minutes. Ratchanok has now faced the Chinese player four times but has yet to defeat her.

He will square off in the final on Sunday against world No.1 Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan, who defeated Pusarla V Sindhu of India in three sets in the other women's semi-final.

Ratchanok was the only Thai player left in the BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament after both the women's doubles and mixed doubles pairs lost earlier.
