Pest control workers were called in after a rat was spotted inside a secondary school, council bosses have confirmed.
The rodent - which was captured in a photograph - was seen on the grounds and rummaging inside what appears to be a rubbish bin.
Council officials, however, said there was 'certainly no grounds' to suggest an infestation and confirmed in a statement 'only one' rat was seen.
The rodent was pictured at Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern on Anglesey in Wales, reports North Wales Live. The school was forced to close, but due to an entirely separate matter, the council said.
The council's pest control team has since been informed and is working with the school, which has around 1,000 pupils. Anglesey Council says there are 'no grounds' to suggest an infestation at the school.
It was announced on Facebook that the school had been forced to shut early due to unrelated 'heating issues' at around midday. Since then, the council has confirmed that a rat was seen on the school grounds, before it was shut.
An Isle of Anglesey County Council spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a rat was seen on the school grounds at Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern earlier today.
"Our pest control team has been informed and is working with the secondary school. We would stress that only one rat was seen and there are certainly no grounds to believe that this is an infestation.
"Unfortunately, the school did have to close early today due to an issue with its heating system. This was a totally unrelated matter."
