Rasmus Hojlund explains two main reasons why he signed for Manchester United

Signing for Manchester United has been described as a “dream” move by Rasmus Hojlund.

The Red Devils have invested £72million in the Danish striker, who at only 20 years of age represents a huge transfer market gamble after just a single season at Serie A club Atalanta.

Hojlund has insisted he is not yet the finished product and wants to become one of the globe’s top front men “as soon as possible”.

“I know it’s the most competitive league in the world,” he explained to MUTV.

“Playing for Man United has always been my dream.

“So, these are two very important components which made me take this decision to come here. So, [I’m] just looking forward to start working and getting on the pitch.”

Erik ten Hag has stated that Hojlund will fit United’s style of play after his signing was confirmed over the weekend, however he is not expected to play for a number of weeks having arrived with a small injury issue.

“He is really a front man, very direct to the goal,” he said after the friendly win over Lens.

“A very good presser, a physical presence and I think in the balance of this squad we needed that.

“Alongside [Marcus] Rashford, [he is] another player who is direct and can score goals and that is all in his mind – he wants to score goals.”
