Rashford, Pogba and Fernandes - Latest Man United team news ahead of Tottenham trip

Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford should be available for selection against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday night.

After a three month hiatus, Premier League football returns to our screens this week.

One of the biggest matches takes place in north London as two teams battling it out for a top-four spot meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where the pressure is slightly on the hosts.

United were in great form when the season was suspended and sit fifth in the table, three places and four points above Spurs at the time of writing.

And the Red Devils' hopes of completing a league double over the Lilywhites and former manager Jose Mourinho has been boosted with confirmation there's no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the capital.

A statement via the club's official website reads: "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope to have virtually a fully fit squad available for Manchester United's game at Tottenham Hotspur on Friday night.

"Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford should have a great chance of being involved, after recovering from foot and back injuries respectively, while defender Eric Bailly is also fighting fit again.

"Andreas Pereira looked in fine fettle when scoring twice in the second friendly against West Brom and centre-forward Odion Ighalo is available after extending his loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua until January 2021.

"There will be plenty of selection posers for the boss to ponder with youngsters Teden Mengi and James Garner also joining training as the hectic fixture schedule begins later this week."

This update means Bruno Fernandes - who was heavily linked with a move to Spurs last summer - can show supporters what they're missing as he's likely to start in midfield.

Whether that's alongside Pogba remains to be seen.

As for Rashford, he has his work cut out to oust Anthony Martial and Odion Igahlo from the starting line-up so he might have to settle for a place amongst the substitutes.

News that Bailly is fully fit might be music to the ears of many United supporters.

At the beginning of the month a video clip of an United training session was shared on social media and it did not do defender Victor Lindelof any favours as he was brushed off the ball far too easily by youngster Mason Greenwood.

This prompted a massive reaction from fans, with many hoping the Swede isn't in contention to start against Spurs.
