Rashford, Martial, Bailly - Manchester United injury news and return dates ahead of Granada

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some injury concerns going into Thursday's Europa League game against Granada.

The Manchester United manager is sweating on the fitness of two attackers following the victory over Brighton, as well as having a number of long-term absentees.

Here is the latest from United's treatment room.

Anthony Martial

The Manchester United forward suffered an injury during the international break while on France duty and may be sidelined for the remainder of the season as a result.

What was said: "It's a very unfortunate situation with Anthony being out for a few weeks; if we get him back before the end of the season, I'll be surprised. So, he's sprained his knee."

Eric Bailly

Having tested positive for COVID-19 during the international break while on duty with the Ivory Coast, the defender is yet to return to the UK.

What was said: "Unfortunately, he won't be with us for a little while. He's been away with Ivory Coast and he tested positive with COVID and he's not back in the country yet."

Return date: N/A

Marcus Rashford

Another player who suffered an injury on international duty, Marcus Rashford was able to feature in the victory against Brighton but was substituted with an issue and will be assessed ahead of Thursday's Europa League tie.

What was said: "He got caught with a tackle, so he had to come off. Let's see how he goes again. Marcus doesn't want to miss any minutes, but he had to come off."

Return date: N/A

Juan Mata

Was absent once again for the victory over Brighton, with Solskjaer initially hoping to have the Spaniard back prior to the recent international break.

What was said: "He got caught with a tackle, so he had to come off. Let's see how he goes again. Marcus doesn't want to miss any minutes, but he had to come off."

Return date: N/A

Phil Jones

The experienced defender is another long-term absentee for Manchester United and may be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

What was said: "I'm not sure how long it will be, how long is a piece of rope? Hopefully this season but if not then the start of next."

Return date: N/A
