AJMER: The full board of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) cancelled the RAS mains exam scheduled on February 25-26 on Wednesday. RPSC said the new dates of the mains exam will be declared later.
The meeting was chaired by Sanjay Kumar Shrotiya, chairman of the commission. The order of the Rajasthan High Court cancelling the results of the RAS preliminary exam was studied by the board which then decided to postpone the mains exam.
RPSC secretary Harji Lal Atal said that the new dates of the exam will be declared in due course. All members of the RPSC were present at the meeting. On Tuesday, the high court had cancelled the results of the preliminary exam following a petition that disputed the answers of questions in the preliminary exams. Disregarding protest by some students, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had the other day said the RAS mains would be held as per schedule on February 25-26 as postponing it would jeopardise the RPSC calendar and delay recruitment.
