Rare poster for Beatles concert in Leeds on sale for £11,000

A rare poster for a concert in Leeds which was headlined by The Beatles is on sale for £11,000.

Someone has taken to Ebay to sell the 56-year-old poster, which was used to promote the ‘Jazz ‘N’ Pop Ball’ at Queens Hall in June 1963.

The event was headlined by the world famous Liverpool rock band and clarinettist and vocalist Acker Bilk.

The description from the Ebay seller says: "To date this is the only known example of the poster in existence."

It also says there is some damage to the top and bottom edges of the poster, which is 51cm x 76cm, but the 'condition is good'.

The Beatles played two gigs in Leeds in 1963 - at Queens Hall and the Leeds Odeon - before making their third and final appearance in the city the following year.

The Queens Hall was demolished in 1989 and replaced with a car park.
