He - or she - is a rather rare Renfrewshire visitor.
And the swans and ducks resident at a nature reserve certainly appeared to know there was something different on the water.
A Great Egret stopped by for a fish supper at the RSPB centre in Lochwinnoch.
The bird is widespread in Asia, Africa, America and southern Europe.

But in recent times there have been more sightings in Scotland, always getting bird-watchers into a flap.
The egret has a 1.7metre wingspan and is a white coloured heron, though it fishes differently.
Eric or Erica the elegant egret was caught on camera at Barr Loch at Lochwinnoch yesterday morning.
And it was still there in the afternoon.
It also caught the attention of the swans and ducks.
The RSPB staff were asked where it was from, but said: “No idea - but it’s certainly not a local bird.”
