Raptors assistant coach Jamaal Magloire played 12 seasons in the NBA before joining the bench in Toronto. And in that time, he’s managed to figure out ways to get his instructions through to players from the bench, especially in loud road games.
Some may call it innovation. Others may call it “cutting the bottom out of a paper Gatorade cup and screaming through it.”

When the ABC broadcast for Game 6 focused in on that unconventional coaching method, NBA fans quickly took hold of the image and turned it into the NBA Finals’ latest meme.

Just think, Magloire could be playing chess when the rest of the league is playing checkers. Other teams are going to copy this truly innovative coaching method — they need to just for the memes.
