Rappers Usher and Rich the Kid assaulted at Los Angeles recording studio

Rappers Usher and Rich the Kid were assaulted at a Los Angeles recording studio in a stunning daytime attack.

A spokesman for the West Hollywood Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed to The New York Daily News that an assault occurred at a West Hollywood record studio on Tuesday.

As many as 10 shots were fired at Westlake Recording Studio, said witnesses. One witness stated the male shooter started blasting away once outside the studio.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies swarmed the scene and cordoned off streets while collecting evidence and talking to witnesses.

One bodyguard was pistol-whipped but The "Love in This Club" singer was uninjured.

Cops were unsure of the number of assailants but money and jewelry were allegedly stolen.

Rich the Kid, a Queens-born musician, released his debut album "The World Is Yours" last March.

The Westlake Recording Studio has been a hot spot for A-list musicians for decades. Madonna, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Rihanna and Justin Timberlake have all reportedly held sessions there.
