Police will on Tuesday summon rapper Prinya "Way Thaitanium" Intachai to answer a fraud charge involving a 10‑million‑baht investment dispute.
The Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) said on Sunday a well‑known businessman filed a complaint two months ago, accusing Prinya of persuading him to invest in a stock‑trading arrangement that never materialised.
The case is separate from the high‑profile fraud scandal involving his wife, actress Rybena "Nana" Intachai.Pol Maj Gen Thatphum Charuprach, ECD commander, said the complaint does not meet the threshold for public loan fraud, as only one victim has stepped forward.
"We have prepared the investigation report and will issue the summons," he said, noting police have coordinated with Prinya's lawyer.Separately, investigators are also examining whether Prinya had any involvement in the alleged fraud linked to his wife, who was recently granted bail.
Deputy ECD Commander Pol Col Nittichot Phenchamrat said a team will meet on Monday to review financial connections and transaction records tied to Rybena's activities.
"After the review, we expect clearer insight into whether Prinya is connected to any of the offences," he said, adding Prinya has maintained cooperation through legal counsel.
Rybena is accused of operating fraudulent investment schemes that allegedly defrauded friends and entertainment figures of nearly 200 million baht.
