Rapper Shawty Lo killed in fiery crash

ATLANTA _ An Atlanta rapper was killed in a fiery crash on I-285 in south Fulton County, according to multiple reports.

While the Fulton Medical Examiner's office had not identified the victim in the crash, the rapper's manager identified the victim as Carlos "Shawty Lo" Walker, known for the hit "Dey Know."

After initially describing the accident as a hit-and-run, "it has been confirmed now that it was a single car accident," Fulton police spokeswoman Cpl. Maureen Smith said.

The crash happened about 2:20 a.m. and temporarily blocked the I-285 southbound ramp to Cascade Road.

The accident happened when a white Audi went over a guardrail, hit two trees and burst into flames. Two other people in the car were injured and taken to a hospital, police said.

Shawty Lo made news in 2013 when the Oxygen network announced plans for a special about his blended family, which includes 11 children with 10 women. After outrage and online petitions, the special entitled "All My Babies' Mamas" was scrapped before it even aired.
