Hip-hop artist OG Maco revealed he's been fighting a skin-eating disease for several months and assured fans he's making progress.
The rapper, 26, shared a photo to Instagram that shows his face and said he came down with the condition after receiving improper treatment for a rash.
"So much healing has occurred thanks to God and my doctors that I'm willing to show all a fraction of what I've been going through," he captioned the photo. I was improperly treated for a minor rash and ended up with a skin eating disease for the last few months."
He continued, "This is the best it's looked. I hope it gives someone hope."
Maco said in a video post to Instagram, meanwhile, that he's mostly had to go through his battle with the disease alone after people he thought would be there for him were not.
"I've been scared a lot," he said. "I didn't know what was going to happen. I didn't know if I'd lose my entire face. I almost did."
The artist _ real name Maco Mattox _ previously sustained multiple injuries in a near-fatal car accident in 2016.
He hails from Atlanta, and his biggest hit, "U Guessed It," came out in 2014.
