Rapper Nick Blixky dead after being fatally wounded in the street with shotgun

Rapper Nick Blixky has been pronounced dead after police found him in the street with fatal gunshot wounds.

The promising 21-year-old musician was due to release his first mixtape Different Timin to fans on June 3 when he was found with severe wounds to his torso at around 9.30pm on Sunday night.

Nick - real name Nickalus Thompson - was discovered on Winthrop Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens in Brooklyn, New York, police reported.

He was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he sadly died.

Footage filmed by a witness apparently in the aftermath of the shooting shows two cop cars stopped in the middle of an intersection with what seems to be a body in the middle of the road.

Officers walk around the body with flashlights, while the witness tells the camera: "He look like he dead. Seven times he got shot."

A man who purports to be Nick's brother, Nasir Fisher, confirmed the tragic news of his death in a poignant Facebook post.

"My heart broken," he wrote, according to the New York Post.

"Rest in peace to my brother nick blixk. watch over me brody."

Nasir, who goes by Nas Blixky, also shared an Instagram picture of himself with his brother, writing: "Love you forever."

Nick's last Instagram was posted just a couple of hours before his death.

In it, he excitedly shared the promo cover for his new mixtape, captioning it: "JUNE 3RD I'm dropping my first Tape ever LOCK IN THE DATE DIFFERENT TIMIN ( COMMENT A IF YOU READYYYY) #BG4L #HOMETEAM #TWIRLWITME."

No arrests have yet been made in connection with Nick's death.
