Rapper Krept says his knife wound was 'a millimetre' away from being 'fatal'

Krept has revealed that the knife wound he sustained backstage at a BBC Radio 1Xtra gig in October was just “a millimetre” away from being potentially “fatal”.

The rapper, who is one half of the grime duo Krept & Konan, was left with slash wounds in the leg and neck after the incident in Birmingham.

"I got a report back saying if [the blade] was a millimetre deeper, it could have been fatal," he told the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme.

He added: "I'm just grateful to even be here. It could have been a lot worse. Thank God."

Krept & Konan had been due to perform at 1Xtra Live at the Birmingham Arena on 5 October but the concert was cancelled following the violence and the pair’s tour has been postponed to allow Krept to recover.

The rapper said the injury would not let the attack affect his career.

"I'm fine, I'm good," he said. "I'm still going to get on with it... We're still going to do positive things and let people know that, no matter what happens, you can get through it."
