Rapper Juice Wrld's cause of death was 'accidental Oxycodone overdose'

Rapper Juice Wrld died of an accidental Oxycodone overdose, according to reports.

The 21-year-old late musician, real name Jarad Higgins, died last month after suffering a fatal seizure at Chicago's Midway Airport.

The Cook County Medical Examiner in the state said that toxic levels of Oxycodone and codeine were found in his system, TMZ claims.

Juice often rapped about taking the highly addictive codeine cough syrup and law enforcement said a bottle of codeine cough syrup was found on the plane after his death.

His mum Carmella Wallace told the site that her late son had "battled with prescription drug dependency".

The day he died the pilot raised the alarm after noticing weapons being carried onto the flight from Los Angeles, and FBI and FAA agents were waiting on the ground when the plane landed.

TMZ reported that Jarad swallowed "a number of Percocet painkillers" to hide them from feds as they searched through his entourage's luggage.

The rapper downed the narcotics "at some point between the plane landing and the feds conducting their search", with sources saying the pills could have contributed to his death.

He is said to have been still conscious when he was transported to the medical centre, but died a short time later.

It's claimed paramedics spent 40 minutes trying to stabilise Juice's heartbeat, but he was pronounced dead in hospital.

The publication previously reported how one of Juice's associates told authorities the rapper had a Percocet problem.

Juice's lyrics tragically show that he predicted he would die young.

In his 2018 track Legends, the rapper spoke about not making it past 21.

He rapped: "What's the 27 club? We ain't making it past 21."
