Rapper DMX covers social distancing in Bible study video on Instagram

Rapper DMX has treated his followers on social media to a personal Bible study video during coronavirus lockdown.

The artist appeared on Instagram Live last Friday, reading passages from Ecclesiastes.

Addressing the ongoing social distancing requirements, DMX says that we are in “a time for embracing, and a time to avoid embraces.”

“A time for embraces and time for avoiding embraces,” he repeats, quoting the verse. “What?! Come on.”

“At the end of the day, at the beginning of the day, it’s going to be God’s will,” he said. “If you try to understand why He does, what He does, you’re just going to end up with a headache. Just do the right thing.”

The rapper has recorded several songs with religious themes, including “Lord Give Me a Sign” in 2006.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has had numerous legal problems down the years, serving a year in prison for tax fraud in 2018.

His followers have reacted positively to his Christian video, with several suggesting that the rapper should lead a regular Sunday Service.
