A rapist who preyed on three young girls was jailed for eight years yesterday.
Derrick Heeney’s victims were aged between five and 13 when the attacks began in 1983.
They continued until 1996.
He lured one victim by claiming to want to help fix a radio and told another if she got pregnant, she was to claim the father was someone else.
Heeney, 62, of Montrose, Angus, was jailed at the High Court in Glasgow after being convicted at a trial of raping two girls and sexually abusing the other in Dundee and Forfar.
Lord Mulholland told him the claims he made in his defence were “risible”.
He added: “Your conduct was despicable and you will now pay a heavy price.”
