A violent rapist who drugged, beat and burned his victim leaving her in such a bad way paramedics thought she was dead has been jailed for life
Nicholas John Crilley, 34, from Queensland in Australia, forced his defenceless victim to endure a horrific 23-day ordeal where she was held captive in a hotel room and beaten, raped and tortured.
Brisbane District Court heard the 22-year-old was burned with her with cigarettes, acetone and boiling water and made her eat her own vomit during the attacks where Crilley laughed and took drugs, Courier Mail reports.
The court heard Crilley had told his victim to choose how to die – being shot, bled to death or a car crash.
She suffered 46 per cent burns to her body, broken bones and deep lacerations and by the time she was discovered by horrified paramedics some of her wounds were severely infected and infested with maggots.

Paramedics found the woman attached to a bed and thought she was dead - it was only when she groaned in agony they realised she was alive.
She was rushed to hospital where she was placed in an induced coma and spent eight weeks in it after which she had to learn to walk again.
The court heard Crilley was arrested following a dramatic police chase involving several stolen cars.
His capture ended a month-long crystal meth-induced delusional state where he falsely believed the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been part of a drive-by shooting that targeted him.

The court heard claims Crilley told a friend: “I’ve pummelled her so hard … she can’t talk anymore.”
Prosecutor Sandra Cupina said Crilley had enjoyed subjecting his victim to physical and psychological violence during the attack in June 2017.
“The horror (she) would have been experiencing is almost unimaginable,” she added.
Ms Cupina read a victim impact statement to the court from the woman, which said: “I have been disfigured both mentally and physically. It is something I would not wish on my worst enemies."
Judge Anthony Rafter SC said Crilley’s horrendous acts had taken his victim to the “edge of death”.
He added: “The victim’s life will never be the same. Yet, despite the terrible ordeal she has suffered she displays courage, dignity and resilience.”
Crilley was convicted of 54 offences including supplying a dangerous drug, rape, sexual assault, grievous bodily harm, serious assault, deprivation of liberty and torture and jailed for life last week.
