Raphinha's 'fine edge' highlighted as former Liverpool star praises Leeds United winger

Raphinha has been earning plenty of plaudits as he settles into life at Leeds United.

The Brazilian winger scored his first goal for the club to earn Marcelo Bielsa's men a 1-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park last weekend.

Raphinha joined Leeds from French club Rennes during the summer transfer window in a reported £17million deal.

The 23-year-old was widely praised for his performance in what was his fifth Premier League appearance, and second start.

What did Bielsa say about Lampard in his Press Conference?

Fellow countryman and boyhood idol Ronaldinho sent him a video message of congratulations.

And he also has a fan in former Liverpool and Leicester City striker Emile Heskey.

“He’s very direct, an exciting player,” Heskey told HITC.

“He’s the sort of player that fans love because he gets you off your bum.

"He drives at defenders, commits them, he’s very sharp, very quick. He’s the sort of player you want in your team and the sort of player you don’t really want to be playing against.”

Heskey believes Raphinha is well suited to slotting into Bielsa's side.

“He looks pretty similar (to the wingers Leeds already have)," added the ex-England international.

"They must have a certain category of players and they all fall into one basket.

"He’s got a lot of energy, going forward and back, which you need in a Leeds side because they play one v one all over the park.

“He’s got that little fine edge, that little finishing touch that goes with that as well.”
