Leeds United forward Raphinha has explained how he uses Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as an inspiration.
The Egyptian is currently the top scorer in the Premier League with 22 goals so far this term. The 29-year-old has also recently scooped the Football Writers’ Player of the Year award for his efforts this season.
Earlier in the campaign, Raphinha was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool. The Brazilian was also said to be attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

With Raphinha’s form and performances this season attracting plenty of attention, it’s possible that the winger could be of interest to some clubs in the summer. Despite this, he says that he is using Salah, among others, as an inspiration for his own game.
“Over time and playing against players you get that experience and contact with them on the pitch you build an admiration for them,” Raphinha told Talksport .
“I’d say that Mohamed Salah is one of those for the way that he plays, others as well.
“The most important thing for me is for me to do my best so that today is better than yesterday and tomorrow I’m better than I was today.
“That’s the most important thing and that will lead to be getting great results as an individual and also for the team.”
