Raphinha breaks silence on Leeds United future amid transfer speculation

Raphinha has insisted he is happy at Leeds United amid transfer speculation linking him with a summer move away from the club.

Signed from Rennes last summer, the Brazilian winger has flourished off the right flank for Leeds, providing five goals and five assists in 21 Premier League appearances.

His delivery from set-pieces has been commended, while his silky skills and pacy dribbling have routinely ripped opposing defences to shreds.

Raphinha's impressive individual displays have led to speculation he could again be on the move in the summer, with Liverpool and Manchester United said to be interested parties.

However, when asked about the speculation about his future, Raphinha insists he is happy at the club.

"I’m really happy and so satisfied to be a part of this club," he told the official club website.

"And when I found that Leeds were interested for me and they wanted me and the way they accepted me, the way I was embraced, the way I was treated on arrival here means and I am really happy now.

"Today, I’m really well settled in the city and the club. I thank everybody for their affection. They contributed to this."

Raphinha also expressed his happiness at being in the city, revealing that he is looking forward to being back at Elland Road.

"I’m really happy to be here in Leeds, being part of this institution," he added. "It’s a real pleasure. I’m really enjoying the city, despite not being able to see or discover much of it.

"I’ve really been made welcome here. I’ve been embraced by all the players, the coaching staff, everybody here at the club, the fans as well.

"I’ll be a lot happy when we’re able to see all the fans in the stadium. So yes, I’m doing really well."

The winger also praised Marcelo Bielsa, adding that he enjoys working for a demanding coach that gives him freedom to express himself.

"Professor Marcelo is a really demanding coach and I personally like that," he said.

"I like working with demanding coaches. He’s someone who always wants to win so that helped a lot with me, adapting and settling at the club.

"He always wants to see us do our best and that’s been really important ever since I arrived at the club. He’s helped me with advice on the positioning on the pitch.

"Also, he’s provided me with the freedom to be myself and I think that’s really important for a player, that you’re working with someone always demanding the best and we all win, we all benefit from that. Everybody’s a winner."
