Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has opened the door for Paul Pogba to seal a transfer to the club from Manchester United.
The Red Devils reportedly face a fight to retain the services of the World Cup winner, who has come under criticism for his form towards the end of the season, and Real Madrid are touted as suitors.
Varane, who had been linked with an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu but committed his future this week, believes that there is always a spot for players of Pogba ’s calibre.
However, he refused to be drawn into what he has been discussing with his compatriot and whether a transfer has been discussed.
"I can't say what I talk to [Pogba] about, but any great player has a place at Madrid and he is one," Varane told Marca.
"In Madrid there is a lot of competition. It is a possibility, there is a lot of noise around and we will see in August where he is."
The defender also believes that Chelsea’s Eden Hazard could also arrive in the Spanish capital this summer alongside Pogba.
"I've known him [Hazard] since I started at Lens. He is a top player and it's like I said to explain the case with Pogba, he could also play at Madrid,” he added.
"He is in the best moment of his career with the age and quality he has. When we [France] faced [Belgium] in the World Cup semi-finals we knew we had to have a special plan to stop him."
