Rape accused fronts court

A man accused of raping two teenage girls has appeared in the Ballarat Magistrates Court, west of Melbourne.

Nicholas John Goldsack was due in court last week but he did not turn up.

Police say they found him at a youth hostel in South Australia on Thursday.

The 22-year-old was extradited back to Victoria over the weekend, where he is facing five charges of rape and one of attempted rape.

Goldsack will face court again in November.

Editor's note 10/12/20: Nicholas Goldsack was subsequently committed to stand trial in the County Court on one charge of rape. On June 2, 2009, he was found not guilty.
