Ranvir Singh's denim midi dress is a stunning summer-to-autumn outfit that'll convince you to take a break from jeans

Ranvir Singh attends the press night of "War Horse" at The National Theatre on June 02, 2026.

Denim trends come and go but most of us have at least a couple of favourite items in our collection and I'm feeling tempted to add another one. Jeans can feel a bit thick or restrictive for hot weather and Ranvir Singh recently wore a chic denim frock instead.

This Karen Millen design was midi-length and had a round neckline and short sleeves that finished just above the elbow. We're used to seeing a lot of shirt dresses made from denim, though Ranvir's outfit for the 2026 War Horse press night was a little different and more summery.

Buttons ran down the front and the waist was cinched in with a flattering belt. It's a simple addition and one that makes a big impact, especially when you've got a flowy or loose silhouette.

You can still get Ranvir Singh's gorgeous denim dress in multiple sizes in 'petite' and it's got short sleeves and a high round neckline. The belt means you can accentuate the waist and there are functional pockets too. The A-line skirt gives a subtle flare.

Crafted from pure cotton, this midi column dress has a regular fit and pintuck detailing at the front and back which creates a stunning structured waist shape. It fastens with a concealed zip at the back and has a neat crew neckline and short sleeves.

Available in three different shades, this sleeveless denim dress falls to an elegant maxi length. It's got seam detailing to accentuate the flowing shape and is made from pure cotton. Pair with everything from white trainers to heeled sandals to take it from day to night.

These deep chocolate brown loafers can be styled with summer dresses but will also be perfect when autumn arrives. They have a gold-toned metal trim across the front for a touch of detail and they come in half sizes too. Crafted from grained leather, they're a durable choice.

You can really easily add a pop of colour into your summer outfits with this Thomas Sabo bracelet, which is made from imitation turquoise beads with a sterling silver logo ring. You can attach different charms to this to switch up the look and the design comes in various bead colours too.

These brown suede Boden Penny loafers are a smart choice, with a cut-out detail and scalloped trim. They come in a few different colours and you can currently get 15% OFF by using the code GD7X online.

Belts bring a bit more structure and definition, though they can also be removed if you love a relaxed fit so there's flexibility there. Ranvir's denim dress also had practical pockets and an A-line skirt with a subtle flare to it.

Compared to jeans, a frock is always going to feel slightly more formal so if you want a smart-casual look, I'd recommend a frock with a timeless shape and colour like this. Mid-blue washes can be dressed up or down more easily than indigo or super pale blue and the Good Morning Britain star showed this at the War Horse press night in early June.

She stepped out in black loafers with a gold-toned trim detail on the vamp. The sophistication and business-like style of the shoes was a contrast against her dress and yet the versatility of denim meant it worked very well.

Ranvir elevated her frock even more with gold hoop earrings and a vibrant turquoise beaded bracelet. Like jeans, denim dresses also look great with white trainers or sandals so there are plenty of alternative ways to style them day-to-day in the summer.

When the heatwave finally passes and we get closer to autumn you could also pair a dress like hers with boots and a suede jacket or blazer over the top for some extra texture and warmth.

Last March the ITV star attended the Tina: The Tina Turner Musical 7th Anniversary Gala Performance wearing another denim midi dress. This Sosander design was long-sleeved and she had on a pair of black chunky boots with it.

However, it was also that versatile mid-blue tone and had a similar A-line shape to her Karen Millen one. Ranvir Singh clearly knows what she likes when it comes to denim dresses and they're so useful for those times when jeans aren't quite the right choice - or if you just fancy trying out something new!
