Ranvir Singh warns Strictly contestants their 'feet will bleed' as first 2022 stars are announced

Television presenter Ranvir Singh issued a warning to the new contestants of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing as she shared some of her Strictly tips on ITV's Lorraine. Two celebrities were confirmed to be joining the 2022 line-up on BBC Breakfast, with actor Will Mellor being the first announced and actor, singer and TV host Kym Marsh also being revealed later in the show.

Ranvir took part in the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing and was paired with Italian professional dancer Giovanni Pernice. They were eliminated in the semi-final and Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse went on to lift the Glitterball trophy the following week.

As the rumours continue to swirl around who will be joining 2022 contestants Will and Kym, 44-year-old Ranvir offered the new contestants some words of advice whilst presenting Lorraine on Thursday. "Congratulations to them both," she said: "Good luck, you need to start getting in the gym, make sure that your body is ready because, oh my goodness, you are not prepared for what is about to happen.

"And your feet will bleed, I'm so sorry both of you, your feet will bleed," She added. Andi Peters, who joined her in the studio seemed to be left horrified by the remark and laughed before saying: "Well done for signing up, your feet are going to bleed," as Ranvir protested: "No Andi, they do!".

Strictly Come Dancing will return to our screens in the autumn on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
