Ranking the uniforms of all 32 NFL teams

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have a new quarterback, Tom Brady, for the 2020 season. They also will have new uniforms. Where do they rank among the 32 teams in the NFL? Whose are the best and who needs to look at redesigning theirs.

32. Washington Redskins

The colors are cool. However, the nickname and what it stands for take down what could be a classic look.

31. New York Jets

A basic look for the New York Jets, which doesn’t stack up to the old-school design the team wore for many years. Those felt classic. These feel like an attempt at being sharp and stylish that make you long for yesteryear.

30. Kansas City Chiefs

Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

They are not as flashy as quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs bring a familiar look to the field that doesn’t seem to have deviated much through the years. That’s a good thing but it also doesn’t wow.

29. Chicago Bears

Mike Dinovo-USA TODAY Sports

The Bears’ look is clean as they come. It speaks to the team and its history as one of the NFL’s historic teams. Nothing fancy, but it doesn’t have to be.

28. Los Angeles Rams

 Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

The Rams would be much higher on this list. However, the anticipation of what they will look like when audibling to the unpopular new logo creates major trepidation. Talk about messing with a good thing.

27. Cleveland Browns

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Browns do far better in their uniform design than they do when it comes to wins and losses. If only their designer could come up with some plays that would lead to a winning team on the field.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars

Given the lack of success the team has had in its current color combination, maybe it should go back to square one and try and come with a new, refreshing look that speaks to trying to start over.

25. New York Giants

A basic and storied look is what gives the New York Giants their image. Big Blue is exactly that when it takes the field at home. The color and uniform definitely works for an historic franchise.

24. Tennessee Titans

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

It isn’t easy to pull off the same color off a similar color but the Tennessee Titans manage to do it without leaving their faithful, um, blue.

23. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals’ keep it simple and don’t have much fanfare when it comes to their uniforms.

22. Buffalo Bills

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

There is a lot to like about the bright blue the Bills wear. The threads come together nicely and definitely are worth a purchase by their fans.

21. Atlanta Falcons

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Starting a two-team run of birds, the Atlanta Falcons come in right behind the Philadelphia Eagles.

20. Philadelphia Eagles

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia fans love the look of their Eagles, which has grown over the years. They like the current design and eat up the past looks of the team.

19. Indianapolis Colts

The uniforms have a solid, classic look. It isn’t one that will captivate fans outside of the team’s nation. However, when you think of the Colts, these uniforms come will be the picture your mind creates.

18. San Francisco 49ers

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The red and gold of the San Francisco 49ers pair nicely when it comes to a look that is reminiscent of this team and no other.

17. New England Patriots

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Tom Brady era is over. The Patriots are supposed to be tinkering with their look heading into 2020. It would be the perfect time to come up with something new since the team is headed in a different direction.

16. Carolina Panthers

 Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

You don’t have to have the ability and talents of Christian McCaffrey to look sharp and sleek in the Carolina Panthers’ uniform.

15. Houston Texans

The deep blue with the red and white team nicely to give the Texans a sharp and memorable look.

14. Denver Broncos

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Orange Crush fits Denver and its Broncos nicely. The color plays well off the Navy blue of the helmet. Whether it is the current modern look or a throwback design, the Broncos score.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Steelers’ color combination speaks to Pittsburgh, a city that sees the Pirates and Penguins also do justice to the black, gold and white.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

New quarterback, new uniforms. The video was shot before the Tom Brady jersey switch. So, of course, these come in at No. 12, where else would they belong?

11. Minnesota Vikings

Hannah Foslien/Getty Images

The Minnesota Vikings created an image around the color purple and it remains with the team. The look may have been modernized and stylized through time but it stands the test.

10. Green Bay Packers

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Few teams create as immediate a memory for their fans and the sport as the Green Bay Packers. The look stands alone and works as well as any.

9. Las Vegas Raiders

 Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Raiders have moved to Las Vegas but there is no reason for them to tinker with the iconic silver and black that defines the team and its history.

8. Miami Dolphins

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Everything about the Miami Dolphins’ color combination speaks to South Beach cool. A perfect mix for a team that has a unique color scheme in the world of sports uniforms.

7. Cincinnati Bengals

David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

The Bengals earn their stripes with the sharp black, orange and white look that plays off one of the coolest helmets in any sport. They roar.

6. New Orleans Saints

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The black and gold work splendidly with the fleur de lis that speaks to New Orleans, the Big Easy and the Saints. Good look.

5. Seattle Seahawks

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Pick any look or color combination you want. The Seattle Seahawks always look great when they take the field.

4. Dallas Cowboys

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

As classic as look as there is in the league. You may not like America’s Team but you certainly can’t argue about how the uniform speaks to and reflects everything about the franchise and its history.

3. Baltimore Ravens

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Love the look with the purple and black creating the perfect contrast and the piping on the legs complete what is a great uniform.

2. Detroit Lions

 Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Partial to the light blue and the Honolulu blue of the Detroit Lions comes across as something you would want to acquire for your wardrobe. The team doesn’t win a ton of games but this look is a winner.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

The Chargers are heading back to powder blue for 2020. That’s the best color they have worn. And, remember, how iconic the Lance Alworth No. 19 became? The new look isn’t out yet but anything the Bolts do in power blue is the best.
