We are reaching an end of our divisional rankings for the NFC West teams at different positions. We now come to safety, where we already looked at the top five players at the position in the division.
How do the teams stack up at the position?
No. 4: San Francisco 49ers

Projected starters: Jaquiski Tartt, Jimmie Ward
San Francisco has a lot of uncertainty at the position, which is why they rank last in the division here. However, there is talent. Tartt and Ward both missed a ton of time in 2018 to injuries but they are talented. Tarvarius Moore is intriguing. Adrian Colbert and D.J. Reed are also in the mix.
No. 3: Seattle Seahawks

Projected starters: Bradley McDougald, Tedric Thompson
This isn’t saying the Seahawks are bad, but four of the five top safeties in the division are on two teams. McDougald is in the top five and Thompson is solid but the two teams with two top-five players go ahead of Seattle.
No. 2: Arizona Cardinals

Projected starters: D.J. Swearinger, Budda Baker
In the division’s top five, Baker comes in at No. 5 and Swearinger at No. 3. Baker is on the verge of breaking out as a household name and Swearinger is a borderline Pro Bowl who does everything pretty well.
No. 1: Los Angeles Rams

Projected starters: Eric Weddle, John Johnson
This is easy. Both are the top two safeties in the division. Weddle is brilliant and still can make plays but will be more important for setting others up to make plays. Johnson broke out as a very good player a year ago.
