When looking at the tight end position in the AFC South, it is arguably one of the thinnest positions across the four teams. Most of the division is lacking of talent at tight end—save for the Indianapolis Colts.
We already took a look at ranking the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers in the division. Now, let’s take a look at the tight end position:

3. Delanie Walker, Tennessee Titans
Because the tight end landscape is so thin, we are only going to look at the top three in the division. It just so turns out that two of the teams in the AFC South won’t be represented on this list.
Walker is in the final year of his contract at age 34 and is coming off of a 2018 season in which he missed the all but one game due to a dislocated ankle he suffered in the regular season opener.
Even at his age, Walker should return as one of the top targets in the Titans offense if he’s able to return to full health from his ankle injury. In 2017, he caught 74 passes for 807 yards and three touchdowns.

2. Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts
After being labeled as a bust with the Detroit Lions, Ebron signed a two-year deal with the Colts hoping to revive his career. He did just that as one of the top weapons in a strong Colts offense. He set career-highs in receptions (66), receiving yards (750) and receiving touchdowns (13).
Ebron is a wonderful move tight end for the Colts, and his skill set works perfectly in the scheme brought along by head coach Frank Reich. However, his blocking hasn’t been a strong part of his game, which keeps him from being a truly complete tight end.
Ebron should still be considered one of the best tight ends in the NFL given his prowess as a pass catcher.

1. Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts
Most might argue that Ebron is the better tight end given his ridiculous stat line from 2018, but everyone following the Colts knows who the starter in the room is. Doyle is one of the most complete tight ends in the NFL and returns in 2019 as the TE1 for the Colts.
Serving as one of Andrew Luck’s most trustworthy short targets, Doyle is also one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL. His skill set works perfectly for the Colts because he can line up on the offensive line or in the slot.
Doyle is set to return from an injury-riddled 2018 season. Don’t be surprised if he winds up as the most productive tight end in the division as long as he stays healthy.
