It would be an understatement to say it’s been a noteworthy NFL coach hiring season in 2022, to say the least.
The Brian Flores lawsuit exposed an already-flawed hiring process, and even before that, the lack of diversity among NFL head coaches was alarming.
Then? It feels like the messiness grew in the wake of the lawsuit and some candidates fans were intrigued by were passed over for some names we’ve seen helm teams before. As our Chris Korman wrote, “Nine NFL teams replaced their head coach during the offseason, and if I were to grade the hires I’m not sure any of them deserve better than a solid B.”
Exactly. But let’s rank them anyway from No. 9 to the top hire anyway:
